Exciting things are happening at The Family Table Ukraine!
We are very thankful for opportunities to help rebuild communities and lives with the hope of the Gospel, so central for healing. Our friends’ support makes it possible. There’s a special video message of gratitude for you, below.
Already, Pam Dandre BSN (founder and director of TFTU) has continued to receive training in two additional methods of Trauma Recovery. It’s desperately needed for Ukraine’s people—both civilian and military. (Click on the posts below.)
Through a relationship with Agape Rehabilitation Complex in Lutsk, western Ukraine, Pam recently provided training for nurses and physical therapists. This Christian center cares holistically--not only for patients but their families, too.
The Agape founders spoke in September 2023 at the “Beyond Suffering” conference in Sofia, Bulgaria. It was held by Joni and Friends, to train people ministering to the disabled. Pam plus Sasha (administrator), and his wife and two TFTU board members attended.
There in Bulgaria, Pam taught a breakout session about Stress and Trauma, including brain science and how it relates to recovery. The video of that teaching, highly-appreciated at the conference, is below.
In October, Pam opened the United Kingdom Parish Nursing Symposium, in England, with an address and challenge to the parish nurses to be resilient as they are salt and light in their context of ministry. She used her experiences in Ukraine as a backdrop, but encouraged the nurses and all believers this way: Our world desperately needs “salt and light” where we are. Are we willing to be that, in whatever context we live? This trip, she also encouraged and brainstormed plans with parish nurses where they serve in Germany and Hungary.
Back in Kyiv, The Family Table Ukraine staff continues to develop relationships and ask the Lord’s leading for opportunities to serve. For example, they visited a government military rehab center, where TFTU’s service was very well received by the soldiers. Please pray for additional opportunities like this to open up.
